Everyone, no matter their age, marital status, rank in society, lack of or abundance of money, or other outside influences, goes through periods of loneliness. It is a common human emotion.     Instead of sitting at home night after night, why not join a weekly group? You can engage in lively conversations and do activities you enjoy as well as meet new people.

    There are groups in most towns for literally everything imaginable, from sports, dancing, and crafts to learning a new language or technical skill.     You need to like yourself before others will like you. This may require self-help books or support groups or even therapy, but you will become a better person if you explore the possibilities of liking yourself more.
