Just because your wedding and honeymoon is over doesn’t mean your romance has to leave and your new reality has to stink. It was never about your wedding or your romantic getaway. It was always about your marriage. Check out a few tips for beating the post-wedding blues!
1. Make your bucket list
Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you should stop having fun! Marriage is not the end of having fun! If there are some things you want to do, share them with your husband and do them together. Just sit down with your sweetheart and make a bucket list of things you’d like to do together. You can make a long term list and a short term list.
2. Laugh
One of the best ways to beat the post-wedding blues is to laugh. It’s so easy to find things to stress about, but you shouldn’t focus on them! Instead find something to laugh about. Laughter is great not only for your soul, but also for a happy and healthy marriage. Try to spend a lot of time together in laughter.
3. Talk it out
Maybe it seems obvious, but good communication is a key to a successful marriage. Once the honeymoon period is over, the reality sets in and often it is different for every couple. Don’t be afraid to share with your husband what’s bothering you in your relationship, your house or your career.
4. Share what you enjoy with one another
Since you and your husband work a 9-5, you just want to chill when you get home. Sharing what you enjoy with one another is one of the best ways you both can grow closer as a new couple. You can watch your favorite movies together. It’s a great way to discover more about your husband through watching what he likes.
5. Share why you love him
All of us appreciate the words of encouragement and nothing can be sweeter than hearing them from the person you love. When you share with your hubby why you love him, you become much more secure in your decision and all those possible post-wedding blues will fade away.
6. Get a massage
You don’t have to spend a lot of your hard-earned money and have a professional massage, even though that’s a great treat. Ask each other to give some tender loving care massage. The more you touch in an affectionate and loving way, the more exciting and safer your relationship becomes.
7. Take a mini-vacation
Taking a mini-vacation together is one of the best ways to keep the honeymoon going in your hearts. I’m not telling you to go on elaborate trip, the next town will be enough for environment change. It is all about being together than the place you go, right?
No matter whether you’re at the stage of considering marriage or you have been married for years, these tips can help keep things fresh. And do you have any tips to share with us?
