There are many easy and effective ways that can be used to fend off colds and flu, and increase your chances of staying healthy, fit and strong.

1. Be active

Try to work out at least 45 minute three to five times a week. For those who have a busy schedule, it can seem very difficult, so I suggest you to wake up an hour earlier during the week and do some exercises and maximize weekend workouts.

2. Take vitamin C

Vitamin C is the essential immunity vitamin. It could be found in oranges, broccoli, orange juice, and other fruits and veggies. Vitamin C could also be found in high quality multi-vitamins. It is available as a single supplement or in a few multi-vitamins.

3. Wash your hands

One of the most effective and easiest ways to stay healthy during the winter season is to remember to wash your hands frequently. You might think that washing your hands it’s not so important, but it is an effective way to kill germs, which are passed on to you.

4. Drink more water

To stay healthy and fit and to keep your digestion strong, you need drink 6-8 glasses of water every day. If you can’t drink clear water, you can drink herbal tea, which also offers a plenty of antioxidant benefits. Opt for mint tea, white or green tea, or some berry teas.

6. Eat more zinc rich foods

There are also zinc lozenges that are very effective for sore throats.

7. Avoid eating too much flours and sugars

Eating too many foods with white flour and sugar can cause not only weight gain, but it can also crash your immune system. Opt for baked goods and breads made with whole grains and such natural sweets as fruit or fruit juice instead of products with white flours and sugars.
