Certain bad habits that affect women’s health

Certain bad habits that affect women’s health : It’s never too late to give up old habits and care more about your general health. A woman’s body is sensitive and more prone to disease and infections than a man’s body.

That being said, bad habits such as smoking, drinking, and over-eating can have visible side-effects in a very short period of time. The good news is that you can make a change. Regardless of your age and physical condition, women should care more about their general wellbeing by attempting to live a healthier lifestyle.

What are the worst bad habits and how can we overcome them? Read on to find out more.

Bad habits that affect women’s health

1. Over-snacking

Losing touch with the natural hunger needs and satisfaction levels of your body trigger chronic over-eating and even diseases that can eventually turn into heart disease, diabetes, and more. If you’re crazy about junk food and just can’t stop eating chips and French fries, you should know that you’re feeding your body with chemicals that might have severe repercussions down the road. But this doesn’t mean you can’t put an end to this bad habit. You need to be determined if you want to succeed though.

Pay more attention to hunger signals, and choose snacks that are healthier. Cravings can be controlled with organic fruit and veggies, not just with refined carbs and sugary treats. Don’t skip breakfast in the morning, and try not to eat until you’re body feels full. Drink 8 glasses of water per day, and go for low-fat, whole-grain products when you feel the need for a snack.

Over-spending

Spending money that you don’t have is yet another bad habit that can affect your health. There’s great pleasure in buying shoes and clothes, but always keep in mind that it’s a temporary form of pleasure. It doesn’t last when the money spent is not yours. Financial stress can lead to depression, insomnia, digestion problems, ulcers, headaches, weight gain or weight loss, and more. It’s tough to regain financial independence, but as soon as you realize that what you’re doing is wrong, you can improve your lifestyle.

Make a financial plan, and start paying off your debt. This will help you feel in control once again, not to mention that you won’t have to wake up the next day worrying that you can’t pay your rent. Educated yourself on fundamental methods and rules of personal finance. Freeze all your credit cards, and start from scratch as this will help you settle on a budget and stick to that budget. Stop looking at money as a form of entertainment, and make a commitment to changing your priorities in order to have a better, more comfortable lifestyle.

Drinking too much alcohol

Drinking too much alcohol on a regular basis can be pure poison for your body. Women who have 3-4 alcoholic beverages a day are predisposed to increased risks of cancer, liver damage, depression, brittle bones, memory loss, and high blood pressure. You should put an end to this bad habit if you want your digestion to improve, stabilize you blood pressure, and preserve a normal weight. Also, alcohol in large quantities can harm your skin. That’s because it dehydrates your body, trigger skin spots, zips, and cracked skin.

Limit your intake to 1 glass a week, or 2 maximum. Stick to white or red wine, and stop drinking sugary cocktails. Last but not least, don’t drink alcohol with the intention to get drunk; enjoy fine wine for the aroma and flavor.

Smoking cigarettes

Most women in their 20s think it’s sexy to smoke cigarettes. However, as you get older you realize that smoking doesn’t do anything good to your body. On the contrary, the more cigarettes you smoke per day the higher chances you have to get a heart or lung disease. This bad habit has a detrimental effect on your skin, hair, and teeth too. The breathing problems accentuate on a daily basis, and you won’t be able to exercise anymore.

If quitting all of a sudden is difficult, you can try vaping. Electronic cigarettes come in friendly cig starter kits. You can adjust the nicotine level and since you’re not smoking any tobacco, it will become easier for you to give up the bad habit eventually.
