Our body waste a great amount of energy after doing physical fitness or playing sports. Thus, if the body is not received the energy within 1 to 2 hours after working out, our muscles will not recover appropriately and our effort practicing all the time will be worthless or will “easy come” as we usually say.

Remembering that a little amount of food absorbed by the body after workout a few minutes can bring a huge advantage. And the result that you aim at workout will be greater if you choose one of these foods below to eat.

What to eat after a workout?

Eggs

Protein and carbon hydrate are the two most essential elements for a diet after training. Eggs contain a large quantity of protein. Each egg provides nearly 70 calories yet 6.3g of protein.

Besides, eggs are one of few foods that contain natural vitamin D. However, don’t make a mistake that absorbing raw eggs is more effective than cooked eggs! Actually, cooked eggs provide the body twice amount of protein comparing to raw eggs.

Orange juice

Instead of energy drinks or drinks specially used in working out, you should choose a glass of orange juice. Not only does the juice provide more vitamin C but it also adds more potassium than other sport drinks which are used during the training, not after that. Potassium an important electrolyte helps replicate the body’s fluid level.

Bananas

Bananas are rich of “rapidly respond” carbohydrate that you need after losing capacity for working out. This carbon hydrate is digested easily and provides energy quickly which help the body re-restore the amount of glycogen lost during practicing, regenerate exhausted muscles. Furthermore, bananas contain a lot of potassium.

Salmon

Salmon is favorite seafood of so many people but they might not know that salmon provides a large quantity of protein as well as Omega 3. Having salmon after working out helps regenerate muscles and enhance working.

Blueberries

Many people love berries because of their taste and their benefit. These lovely berries have a function of anti-oxidant, especially blueberries. Many researches show that blueberries can increase to triple recovery percentage of the body after hard working out.

Dried fruits and nuts

Dried fruits and nuts such as raisins, prunes, cashews or almonds will help the body take back the amount of protein and carbohydrate lost quickly. Soybeans are particularly useful in developing muscles. A half of cup of soybeans provides about 34g of protein.

Pineapples

Bromelain enzyme contained in pineapple is a natural anti-inflammatory. This enzyme has a function of healing bruises, sprains and swelling. In addition, pineapples are full of vitamin C-a key component in the process of tissue regeneration.

Sweet potatoes

Not only provide an intake of good carbon hydrate but sweet potatoes have a lot of kinds of protein and minerals, especially vitamin B6, C, D, magnesium, and potassium.

Kiwi

Just a small piece of kiwi will give the body a huge amount of vitamin C and potassium. Kiwi is also rich in antioxidants which help relieve muscle pain. Hint: do not throw away kiwi peel. Even this part that we think it’s useless to contain a lot of nutrients.

Water

Drinking water after a hard workout appears to be an obvious thing. However, rehydrating inappropriately is a common mistake in training or playing sports. To maintain the pleasant and healthy feeling, you should weigh yourself first and during the exercise, every 4 grams of weight decreasing, you should take 2 to 3 cup of water.
